Wisconsin’de yaşayan, 11 yaşındaki Sterling North, bir gün balık tutarken tüfek sesi duyar. Sesin geldiği yere gittiğinde anne rakunun vurulmuş olduğunu görür. Sterling, bebek rakunu alır ve ona bakmaya karar verir. Rascal adını koyduğu rakunla ayrılmaz ikili olurlar. Ancak Rascal kısa sürede büyür ve komşuların tarlalarına girerek mısırları talan etmeye başlar.
