15 yaşındaki Shirahama Kenichi, averajın da altında, okul hayatı boyunca sürekli tartaklanmış, zayıf ve korkak biridir. Bir gün, okula giderken tanıştığı Furinji Miu, Kenichi’nin hayatını tamamen değiştirir. Miu, güçlü olmak isteyen Kenichi’yi, Ryouzanpaku adlı garip bir dojoya çalışması için yollar. Burada farklı dövüş sanatlarında uzmanlaşmış ustalarla karşılaşan Kenichi, Miu’nun aslında bu dojoda yaşadığını öğrenince kesin olarak katılmaya karar verir.
Zorlu bir eğitime başlayan Kenichi, Miu’dan öğrendiği teknikle okulun karate kulübünün güçlü öğrencilerinden birini yenince başkalarının da dikkatini çeker. Kenichi, istemeden de olsa içinden çıkamayacağı bir yola girmiştir.
